The Silicone Heating Blankets are made of silicone reinforced with fiberglass fabric, a resistive wire, a fixation system according to the client’s process needs, with internal and external cabling according to the electric current, made with Teflon or silicone cable, and may have an insulation cover made of Cordura fabric, with external Nomex insulation and internal ceramic fiber insulation, a temperature controller, and a standard or industrial male plug.
They support continuous operation up to 250ºC (482ºF) and peaks of 300ºC (572ºF) for short periods of time. Furthermore, they can work in cold environments down to -40ºC (-104ºF), supporting negative peaks of -90ºC (-194ºF) for short periods of time. They are manufactured with an excellent insulating material that guarantees electrical insulation up to 20KV.
They are also resistant to humidity and chemical products, and are easy to clean. They are very flexible, allowing them to perfectly mold to their container or surface even if it is dented8. The silicone also has a good Shore hardness, which gives it a crushing resistance of 1kg/cm².
All fabrics used are fire-retardant (do not propagate fire), non-stick (easy to clean, which can be done dry with a cloth and alcohol), waterproof (can work in wet or outdoor environments), resistant to cutting and high temperatures.
The insulation cover used retains heat, preventing the Silicone Heating Blanket from losing temperature to the environment, as well as protecting the operator, allowing them to work close to the heated area, given that it insulates between 60 to 70% of the temperature, thus decreasing the risk of burns.

The following sensors or thermocouples can be used: J, K, PT100, PTC, NI 120 or another, both for temperature control of the Heating Blanket and of the product or surface to be heated by it.
The use of each type of temperature controller depends on the precision that the process requires and the thermal dissipation (W/Cm2) of the Silicone Heating Blanket. For dissipation up to 0.5 w/cm² a simpler controller like the bi-metallic or analog thermostat can be used; for dissipation up to 0.7 w/cm², a digital thermostat is recommended; and above that, the ideal is to use a digital panel. Remembering that the power is directly related to the temperature desired for heating.
