Learn More About Our IBC Heaters
The IBC Heating Blankets are used for Heating Metal IBCs or Heating Plastic IBCs, with or without a cage. The IBC Heaters are ideal for raising and maintaining the temperature of products stored in 1000 Liter IBCs, ensuring the adequate viscosity and temperature for storage and handling.
The IBC Heating Jackets are composed of heating zones that consist of thermal blankets made of silicone reinforced with fiberglass fabric, resistive wire, a fastening system with hooks, stainless steel springs, and velcro, with internal and external cabling according to the electric current made of Teflon or silicone cable, sewn into an insulation cover made of Cordura fabric, with external Nomex insulation and internal ceramic fiber insulation, a temperature controller, and a standard or industrial male power plug.
They support continuous work up to 200ºC (392ºF) and peaks of 230ºC (446ºF) for short periods of time. Furthermore, they can operate in cold environments down to -40ºC (-104ºF), supporting negative peaks of -90ºC (-194ºF) for short periods of time. They are manufactured with an excellent insulating material that guarantees electrical insulation up to 20KV. They are also resistant to moisture and chemical products, and are easy to clean. They are very flexible so that they perfectly mold to their container even if it is dented. The silicone also has good Shore hardness, which gives it a crushing resistance of 1kg/cm2.
All fabrics used are flame-retardant (do not propagate fire), non-stick (easy to clean, which can be done dry with a cloth and alcohol), waterproof (can work in wet or outdoor environments), resistant to cutting, and high temperatures. The insulation cover used retains heat, preventing the IBC Heating Blanket from losing temperature to the environment, as well as protecting the operator, allowing them to work close to the IBC being heated, since it isolates between 60 to 70% of the temperature, thus reducing the risk of burns.
The IBC Heating Jacket from Paulista Heaters has good durability with a considerable lifespan of up to 5 years working daily within the temperature range it supports. The IBC Heating Blankets from Paulista Heaters can be controlled by an analog thermostat (we use the IMIT brand), a digital thermostat (we use NOVUS 321), or a digital panel (we use NOVUS 1030 with PID function or NOVUS 1050 for ramp-soak control). The following sensors or thermocouples can be used: J, K, PT100, PTC, NI 120, or another, both for controlling the temperature of the IBC Heating Blanket and the product to be heated in the IBC, or both.
The use of each type of temperature controller depends on the precision required by the process and the thermal dissipation (W/Cm2) of the IBC Heating Blanket. For dissipation up to 0.5 W/Cm2, a simpler controller such as the analog thermostat can be used; for dissipation up to 0.7 W/Cm2, a digital thermostat is recommended; and above that, the ideal is to use a digital panel. It is worth remembering that the power is directly related to the desired heating temperature.
The Thermal Blanket for IBC Heating from Paulista Heaters is of quality. Its controller can be made in accordance with NR10, we also have solutions to work in explosive areas with EX certification and we meet international standards with CE certification and other requested technical standards, according to customer requests agreed upon in the quote. It can also be customized according to the customer’s needs, such as coming with a translucent fabric part so that the operator can check the level of the liquid being heated in the IBC. We also have options with bottom and top heating in addition to the side. And the digital panel can come mounted on a pedestal, being interconnected with the blanket via a connected pigtail with a multipolar socket.
The IBC Heaters are widely used for heating various types of products stored in metal or plastic IBCs of various sizes. Therefore, they are widely employed in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical, metallurgical industries, in workshops, restaurants, hospitals, and laboratories in general.
