Learn More About Our Heat Tape

The company Paulista Heaters offers various solutions for Heating Piping , such as Heating Tracing for fixed power per meter, or Heating Tape for variable power, serving the most varied sizes.
Heating Tapes are used for Heating Tapes made of metal or plastic. Pipe Heaters are ideal for raising and maintaining the temperature of products that pass through piping or plumbing, ensuring the appropriate viscosity and temperature for storage and handling.
Heating Tapes for Piping Heating are manufactured with silicone reinforced with fiberglass fabric, resistive wire, with internal and external cabling (made of Teflon or silicone cable) according to the electric current, a temperature controller, and a standard or industrial male plug, and may or may not include a thermal insulation cover. They support continuous operation up to 250ºC (482ºF) and peaks of 300ºC (572ºF) for short periods of time. They can also work in cold environments down to -40ºC (-104ºF), supporting negative peaks of -90ºC (-194ºF) for short periods of time. They are manufactured from an excellent insulating material that guarantees electrical insulation up to 20KV. They are resistant to moisture and chemical products, and are easy to clean. They are very flexible, allowing them to perfectly mold to their container even if it is dented. The silicone also has a good Shore hardness, giving it a crushing resistance of 1 kg/cm². They have good durability with a considerable lifespan of up to 5 years working daily within the temperature range they support.
The Piping Heating Tapes from Paulista Heaters can be controlled by an analog thermostat (using the IMIT brand), percentage control (using the LOTI brand), a digital thermostat (using NOVUS 321), or a digital panel (using NOVUS 1030 with PID function or NOVUS 1050 for ramp-soak control). The following sensors or thermocouples can be used: J, K, PT100, PTC, NI 120, or others, for temperature control of both the Pipe Heating Tape and the product to be heated in the drum, or both. The type of temperature controller used depends on the precision required by the process and the thermal dissipation ($W/Cm^2$) of the Heating Tape. For dissipation up to 0.5 W/Cm², a simpler controller like the analog thermostat or percentage control can be used. For dissipation up to 0.7 W/Cm², a digital thermostat is recommended. Above that, the ideal is to use a digital panel. It should be noted that the power is directly related to the desired heating temperature.
The Piping Heater from Paulista Heaters can also come with a thermal insulation cover. This is an external covering made of Cordura fabric, insulating blanket, and Nomex, fixed by velcro. All fabrics used are anti-flame (do not propagate fire), non-stick (easy to clean, which can be done dry with a cloth and alcohol), waterproof (can work in wet or outdoor environments), resistant to cutting, and high temperatures. This insulation cover is used to retain heat, preventing the Heating Tape from losing temperature to the environment. It also serves to protect the operator, allowing them to work close to the drum that is being heated, as it isolates between 60 to 70% of the temperature, thus reducing the risk of burns.
The Heating Tape for Piping Heating from Paulista Heaters is of quality. Its controller can be made in compliance with NR10; they also have solutions for working in explosive areas with EX certification and meet international standards with CE certification and other requested technical standards, according to customer requests agreed upon in the quotation.
Heat Tracing cables are flexible cables wrapped in a metallic mesh. The Electric Tracing system works with a fixed power per meter of 40 W/M. It is ideal for working with temperatures that are not excessively high (maximum of 100ºC (212ºF)). Its temperature control is done through a percentage control that regulates the power of the Electric Trace and, consequently, its temperature. It can be fixed in parallel with the piping using Kapton tapes (which resist high temperatures) or wrapped along the piping with equidistant spaces. This type of Piping Heater is limited compared to the Heating Tape in terms of temperature, power, and even flexibility.
Piping Heaters are widely used for heating various types of products that pass through piping. They are, therefore, employed on a large scale in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical, and metallurgical industries, in workshops, restaurants, hospitals, and laboratories in general.
