Learn More About Our Drum Heaters
The Drum Heaters are used for Drum Heating, Barrel Heating, Octabin Heating, Cask/Keg Heating, Pail/Bucket Heating, and similar containers, made of metal, plastic, or cardboard.
Drum Heaters are ideals for raising and maintaining the temperature of products stored in drums, ensuring the appropriate viscosity and temperature for storage and handling.
The Drum Heating are manufactured with silicone reinforced with fiberglass fabric, resistive wire, a fixing system with stainless steel hooks and springs, internal and external cabling according to electrical current made with teflon or silicone cable, temperature controller, standard or industrial male plug, and may or may not include a thermal insulation cover.
They support continuous operation up to 250ºC (482ºF) and peaks of 300ºC (572ºF) for short periods of time. Furthermore, they can operate in cold environments down to -40ºC (-104ºF), supporting negative peaks of -90ºC (-194ºF) for short periods of time. They are manufactured with an excellent insulating material that guarantees electrical insulation up to 20KV. They are also resistant to humidity and chemical products, and are easy to clean. They are very flexible, allowing them to perfectly fit the recipient even if it is dented. The silicone also has a good shore hardness, giving it a crushing resistance of 1 kg/cm². They have good durability with a considerable lifespan of up to 5 years working daily within the temperature range they support.
The Drum Heaters from Paulista Heaters can be controlled by an analog thermostat (we use the IMIT brand), a digital thermostat (we use NOVUS 321), or a digital panel (we use NOVUS 1030 with PID function or NOVUS 1050 for ramp-soak control). The following sensors or thermocouples can be used: J, K, PT100, PTC, NI 120, or another type, either for controlling the temperature of the Drum Heating or the product to be heated in the drum, or both. The use of each type of temperature controller depends on the precision required by the process and the thermal dissipation (W/Cm²) of the Drum Heater . For dissipation up to 0.5 W/Cm², a simpler controller like the analog thermostat can be used; for dissipation up to 0.7 W/Cm², a digital thermostat is recommended; and above that, the ideal is to use a digital panel. It is important to remember that the power is directly related to the desired heating temperature.
The Drum Heater made from Paulista Heaters can also come with a thermal insulation cover. This is an external coating made of cordura fabric, insulating blanket, and nomex, fixed with velcro. All fabrics used are fire-retardant (do not propagate fire), non-stick (easy to clean, which can be done dry with a cloth and alcohol), waterproof (can work in wet or outdoor environments), and resistant to cutting and high temperatures. This insulation cover is used to retain heat, preventing the Drum Heater from losing temperature to the environment, as well as to protect the operator, allowing them to work close to the drum being heated, as it isolates 60 to 70% of the temperature, thus reducing the risk of burns.
The Drum Heating made from Paulista Heaters is of high quality. Its controller can be made in accordance with NR10, we also have solutions to work in explosive areas with EX certification, and we meet international standards with CE certification and other requested technical standards, according to customer requests agreed upon in the quote.
Paulista Heates offers various solutions for Drum Heating , accommodating the most varied sizes. In addition to offering a simpler solution with a Drum Heater it also offers a more complete solution with a set of Drum Heater that allows faster and more homogeneous heating in larger containers.
Drum Heaters are widely used for heating various types of products stored in cylindrical containers of the most varied types and sizes. They are therefore widely employed in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical, and metallurgical industries, in workshops, restaurants, hospitals, and laboratories in general.
